Welcome to the Blog page for Richard Guy Sports Massage.
My name is Richard Guy and I am a Sports, Deep Tissue , and Remedial massage therapist based in SW London and Central London.
I qualified at the London School of Sports Massage and have since worked in private practice.
I treat from three practices:
Battersea & Wandsworth Chiropractors, Battersea, SW11
Yogoloji, Victoria, SW1
Spiro-Health, Putney, SW15
Massage has many benefits and isn’t just for people who are sporty.
Massage can help to relieve tension in tired, achy, tired muscles from sitting at a desk in your job, lifting objects, and even gardening.
If you take part in sport and exercise then massage can help you before and after training and competing in your sport – you’ll recover quicker so that you can get back to training sooner and push yourself harder.
It will also help in preventing injuries due to the stress that you place on your muscles – tired, tight, tense muscles are more prone to injury. Massage will help relieve and release the tiredness, tension and tightness.
Many of the conditions that I treat are:
Muscular Pain
Tight Muscles
Overuse injuries (both work and sports related)
Back, Neck and Shoulder pain (including headaches, whiplash, tension, aches)
Hip and Knee pain
Stress
Joint problems
Tendonitis
Sciatica
Scar tissue (from injuries and operations)
Sports Injuries (ITB Syndrome, Shin Splints, Lower Back Pain, Tennis Elbow, etc).
Massage can also help you feel better – both physically and mentally.
I’m also a competitive age group triathlete. I have raced triathlon since 1996, in that time I have completed 4 Ironman distance triathlons and was privileged enough to race for Great Britain in the 2007 European Long Course Championships in my age category, as well as many other races from sprint distance upwards. I have also run 9 marathons and race the bike in time trials. I race for Bec Cycling Club.
My blog will provide information about sports, remedial, and deep tissue massage, offer advice and tips on stretching, training, health, racing, and much more.
I will be updating the blog on a regular basis so please check it out or subscribe to it.
Cheers
Rich
